People….I have made few very good decisions in my life….and this is DEFINITELY one of them.
I think this is going to be one of the best times of my entire life. Already it has been. Including the fact that pretty much everything is different than I expected! 🙂
It took about 5 hours to drive down to the Bible school, even though it was only about 150 miles. The roads are narrow and curvy and take a long time to navigate. People zoom right past each other with millimeters to spare, it seems like.
We passed people herding sheep alongside the road, riding donkeys, and using horsepower to pull carts along. Out in the fields I could see people hand-raking hay, harvesting corn by hand, and the neatest round hay stacks here and there.
The country is very very mountainous and rugged, much more than I expected. It’s gorgeous.
We did get to Bible school eventually, but I will leave you at a place we stopped at for lunch. Below is a picture of the view from the restaurant.
Guess what is across that lake there???
Macedonia!!! Absolutely incredible for me to see the land where Paul walked some 2000 years ago and ministered to the people there. I cannot describe for you how much it meant to me to see that, even if I actually haven’t been TO Macedonia. (yet haha)
And yes, I really was there. 🙂
