…..but I guess I was wrong. Cause I woke up this morning to about 6 inches of snow. Yep, thaaaaaaaat’s right. You read it correctly!! Six inches of snow. Ain’t gonna be no tillin’ today. Or planting. Or very much of anything.
But, it’s kind of a good thing anyway. Because I got to experience some snow, which is rather rare in Oregon, at least in these quantities. And I shoveled snow for pretty much the first time ever. And it was fun. I like looking out at the smooth whiteness that blankets the countryside, but at the same time Nate (the farmer) and I are getting rather impatient to get outside and start planting. Apparently this is really unusual for Indiana and he is already about 2 weeks behind in planting outside. We have trays and trays of starts that are ready to go outside!….but the outside is not ready for them yet.
On a nice note, I’m including a couple pictures of my seeds!!! Or rather what my seeds have become. 🙂 The folks here agreed to let me plant a bit of ground in my own stuff so that is what I am doing. The sprouts shown are of my first tray, the second tray is mostly tomatoes and peppers and they are juuuust starting to sprout!! (Yes, yes, I know. I don’t like tomatoes OR peppers. But I like growing them. And who knows? Maybe I’ll be able to sell some of them at market this summer.
Unfortunately, Nate here has been giving me a rough time on not liking tomatoes or spaghetti. 🙂 But I’m used to it. 🙂
